Welcome to the Main Lodge
Dry Island is a private family compound whose owner opens up their main house, log cabin and boathouse to those seeking luxurious lodging and accommodations on Upper Saranac Lake, within the Adirondack Wilderness.
A limited number of guests are allowed each year to stay at Dry Island and take in what can include amazing sunrises. A soothing dip in the spa. A swim, then some wonderful fishing. There are some very large pike, bass and trout in Upper Saranac Lake. In the afternoon, go water skiing or take a relaxing boat ride on the Hackercraft while enjoying wine, cheese and crackers and watching the sunset. After dinner you will want to take a look at the stars. Its magnificient! Then listen to the call of the Loons as you drift off to sleep at night.
While enjoying your stay, walk through some of the paths that have never been walked upon. As you venture around the adirondack luxury island on your vacation, your spirits will be refreshed, and your soul will be cleansed.
Our island is unpretentious but quite upscale with all the comforts of your own home. The bathrooms are generous in size and have the amenities you would expect in a luxury resort. Oversized Turkish towels, hair dryers, special soaps and lotions and a 7 foot Kohler whirlpool bath that has five shower heads, ten pressure jets, and an ample supply of fresh mountain water to let you feel refreshed as never before.
The main house is fully air conditioned though it is cool enough to sleep with the doors and windows wide open. The Island is 1700 feet above sea level where a gentle mountain breeze is about you most of the time.
Firewood is cut and stacked ready for you at anytime. The caretaker will rebuild and prepare a new log fire for you each day if you desire.
The Main House has three bedrooms: one with California King bed and two with queen-sized beds. We offer Rustic, luxurious accommodations that can sleep 10 people. It is all inclusive and the owner's staff of a Boatman, Chef, and Housekeeper are at your service.
